It is not difficult to imagine that permanent coverage of refrigerated and freezer gondolas reduces energy consumption and makes the test of ensuring correct temperatures considerably easier. But how large an energy saving can be expected after investing in KEEP COOL®? And does the improved food quality have any practical importance at all?

To substantiate that which seems logical, but perhaps also a little unclear, we have asked independent Danish institutions to evaluate the question of food quality as well as energy savings.

Under the management of laboratory manager, Flemming Boisen, The Regional Food Control Authority Funen has conducted a test of germ development in fresh meat products stored in an open gondola and in a gondola with a heat reflecting sliding glass cover, respectively. Certified engineer, Kenneth Bank Madsen from the Technological Institute in Aarhus has conducted a test of the energy consumption in an actual shop before and after installation of KEEP COOL®. Read more under the menu point to the left.

FEWER BACTERIA WITH KEEP COOL®

Development of bacteria in refrigerated meat with the same temperature in the surrounding cooled air (+3.9 °C): Without the protection of heat-reflecting glass, 5 times as many bacteria develop in a 24-hour period.

LARGE ENERGY SAVINGS WITH KEEP COOL®

In the test, a saving of 75,000 kWh/year in SuperBrugsen Faeroe PI in Aalborg is documented. This corresponds to a saving of 2,100 kWh/year per running meter long side freezer gondola!
